The Katelyn Foundation

No parent should have to experience the heartbreaking loss of a child. No family should have to bear the far-reaching emotional burden. In memory of our beloved Katelyn T. Michaud, mother Sandra Testo-Michaud and uncle Robert J. Testo, III have launched The Katelyn Foundation.

Why We Came to Be

Two year-old Katelyn Michaud tragically died in a swimming pool accident on January 27, 2004. In response to her death, The Katelyn Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for child safety awareness, was founded in 2006 by her mother and uncle to honor her memory and prevent the loss or serious injury of other precious children. Our Mission

The Katelyn Foundation's mission is to promote child safety through public awareness and education.

Objectives: 

• Promote public awareness and educational campaigns to highlight hidden yet prevalent injurious or death-threatening situations that may lead to the serious injury or death of a child
• Sponsor educational seminars for parents, parents-to-be, child care professionals and children on matters of child safety
• Communicate and partner with local, regional and national organizations and policy makers to promote child safety legislation
• Offer financial assistance, counseling and other support services to families coping with the loss of a child
